Hair Loss Solutions
Hair loss, also known as alopecia, can be a distressing condition that affects both men and women, impacting self-esteem and overall quality of life. Hair loss can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, hormonal changes, stress, and underlying medical conditions. Addressing hair loss effectively requires a targeted approach that considers the root causes and individual patient needs.
At Fergus Pharmacy, we offer compounded formulations designed to promote hair growth, reduce shedding, and support scalp health. Our treatments are tailored to address the specific type of hair loss you’re experiencing, whether it’s androgenic alopecia (pattern baldness) or other forms of hair thinning.
Formulation Examples:
-
Minoxidil 10%/Finasteride 0.1% Topical Foam
It is used to treat various conditions such as Androgenic Alopecia, Male Pattern Baldness, Female Pattern Baldness, Alopecia Areata, and Telogen Effluvium.
Minoxidil 10%/Finasteride 0.1% Topical Lotion is a specially compounded formulation designed to address the challenges of male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) and alopecia areata. This unique combination of active ingredients works synergistically to reduce hair loss and stimulate hair regrowth.
Minoxidil, a potent vasodilator, functions by enhancing blood flow to the scalp. This increased circulation nourishes the hair follicles, creating an optimal environment for hair growth. On the other hand, Finasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, works by preventing the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone known to contribute to hair loss. By blocking the production of DHT, Finasteride helps to halt the progression of hair loss.
To use this lotion, apply a thin layer to the affected areas of the scalp twice daily, ensuring to massage it in until fully absorbed. Consistent and correct usage is key to achieving the best results. It’s important to note that while this medication can significantly slow down hair loss and promote hair regrowth, it is not a cure for male pattern baldness or alopecia areata. Results may take several months of consistent use to become noticeable.
